ST Wide Body?

Mensaje sin leer por PorscheRacer »

Sorry for the English!

Has any driver in ST been told they can run wide body fenders? I am having some difficulty getting a clear answer on that, and I am seeing several ST cars with wide body kits. I dont want to be the only one out there running a stock body!!

Well that was the same info I got but I am seeing many cars with wide body.

I just bought all the body panels since my car is heavy, but I asked permission first. I thought that the body was only changeable if you could not get down to your weight. It also seems many cars are running lightweight bodies but I doubt they are overweight.

I guess I am a little confused...

OK, you can change the original parts for a lightweight bodie, but equal to the original, not wide body, maybe they still have to change those parts!!

The way I read the rules was:

You can change glass to lexan, remove seats, remove A/C and heat, remove window winders etc.. for free if you want too so long as you do not go under the required weight.

If after removing the above items, and the car is still too heavy to get to the required weight then you must ask for permission from the technical committee and they tell you what you can do to lower the weight.

I asked permission to change to Fiberglass/Carbon Fiber before I did it. The problem I have is the car is still 200#-300# overweight!!

You should ask to Promotor.

Did you download the rule book?

Thanks

The rules say no widebody, the other cars running apparently are saying yes anyway!

Which cars are you talking about?

I've seen some GT3 cars announced as moving to ST this year... and some have wide body parts or fender flares, but this might be just because of old pics from when they ran GT.
