Circuito inaugrato nel 1974, ospita regolarmente dal 1975 la 3 ore del Costa Rica, una gara di turismo. L'11 dicembre 1988 era in calendario una gara di Gruppo C e IMSA intitolata al Presidente del Costa Rica, Oscar Arias, vincitore del Premio Nobel per la Pace. La Pro Motor S.p.A., l'organizzatore dell'evento, aveva già compiuto dei lavori di miglioramento per un valore di 1,2 milioni di dollari, ma la gara è stata annullata già nell'estate 1988 per problemi economici. Il circuito corto disegnato in blu sulla mia mappa è chiaramente visibile sulla mappa del 1988, ma non nella foto aerea pubblicata sul sito ufficiale (pagina CONTACTENOS); nella stessa foto aerea sembra che anche la corsia box sia più corta di quella della mia mappa e che il rientro in pista avvenga ancora sul rettilineo principale e non dopo la prima curva. Circuit opened in 1974, since 1975 it have hosted regularly 3 Hours of Costa Rica, a touring car race. On December 11th 1988 a Group C and IMSA race was scheduled. It was named after Oscar Arias, Costa Rica president and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Pro Motor S.p.A., organizer of the event, had already spend 1.2 million of Dollars, but the race was canceled in summer 1988 for economical reason. Short circuit in blue on my map is clearly visible on 1988 map, but not on aerial photo that can be seen on official website (CONTACTENOS page); in the same photo it seems pit lane is shorter than in my map, it seems to finish on main straight and not after first corner.

Non so quale delle due misure sia quella corretta. Sullo stesso disegno originale (fatto dall'Ing. Jorge A.Valverde) è riportata la lunghezza totale di 3000 m, ma la somma di tutti i parziali è 2938 m (v. sotto). I don't know which value is the right one. On the same original drawing (made by Ing. Jorge A.Valverde) total lenght reported is 3000 m, but the sum of all partial distance is 2938 m (see below).
