Eso es Super 1600 o Super 2000 ?

Honda desarrollará un Súper 2000

La marca japonesa Honda, conocida por sus productos de alta calidad, quiere ahora explorar el campo de los rallyes, después de presentar en el pasado Salón de París un Civic Type R destinado a las pruebas de carretera.

Sobre el Civic Type R, que es muy habitual en Finlandia y ahora en Italia, Mauro Nocentini, el conocido preparador italiano de Mitsubishi y que este año hará correr también a los Fiat Punto Abarth Súper 2000, está preparando una versión Grupo N de dicho modelo.

Paralelamente, otro preparador italiano, JAS Motorsport, está desarrollando una versión de la categoría R3 de la FIA para hacer correr este coche con las preparaciones de motor permitidas, que se podrían aproximar a las de los antiguos Kit-Car.

Pero, finalmente, la noticia más importante es que Nocentini estaría trabajando junto con la casa madre en una versión Súper 2000 para rallyes, que Honda podría homologar ya el próximo año. Con este objetivo, MRT habría sondeado a varios pilotos de notoriedad, entre ellos uno español, para la puesta a punto y participación de este modelo Súper 2000 en la próxima temporada.

El vehículo tiene su gracia ... Según leí por ahí, el motor es el mismo que han usado en otras generaciones (2.0 i-VTEC) pero con potencia aumentada a 201 CV que los da a 8.000 rpm.... algo escasa para las expectativas que tienen ... Pero bueno, ya vienen otras versiones...

Lo que en definitiva no me llama la atención, es su diseño trasero ... no sé, como que algo no concuerda ..

Vamos a ver que más se les ocurre con este Civic R3

Que bueno un Civic S2000, más marcas acercándose al rallismo con su propia filosofía... además el formato de S2000 se le debe dar bastante bien a Honda con sus motores que arrollan como el diablo mismo. Alguien sabe si las regulaciones S2000 permites sistemas de regulación de admisión variable como el VTEC?

Los demás Super 2000 andan alrededor de 270-280 bhp... habrá que ver que logran hacer en Honda.

Super 2000, also known as S2000, is an FIA specification and classification for production based race cars. The specification is split to cover both rally and touring car racing. Super 2000 rally cars are also permitted to compete in Production World Rally Championship events alongside Group N cars.[1] The goal of the Super 2000 classification is to allow more manufacturers and privateers to race by reducing the cost of a competitive car. The World Rally Championship currently has three manufacturers currently fielding teams, while private teams rely on older cars from current manufacturers or from "works" teams that have left the WRC, such as Škoda or Mitsubishi.

In order to cut costs & shorten development time, the Super 2000 rally cars originally used a common control gearbox & drivetrain made by a French company, Sadev. The FIA has since announced that X-Trac[2] and Ricardo Consulting Engineers will be allowed to also manufacture S2000 gearboxes to FIA spefication. This is to further cut costs by introducing competition into gearbox supply.

In effect these new rules allowed Ford to build from scratch their S2000 Fiesta vehicles in Australia, in as little as 14 weeks, starting out with a Super 1600 chassis & rollcage.

South Africa was the first country in the world to run Super 2000 cars in rallying. Toyota South Africa and Volkswagen South Africa build 2 cars each to compete in the South African Rally Championship in 2005
