.

TC-Touring
Bodyshell / Aerodynamics
The race car must be based on a production road-going model with a minimum length of 4.1m. Wheelarch extensions and a front spoiler may be fitted within certain size limits. Overall the car must have a ride-height of no less than 80mm. The rear wing is a TOCA supplied component and is unique to each model of car.
The rear wing is designed to produce no more than 25kg of downforce based on windtunnel tests using the road-going base model. Once fitted, teams may adjust the angle of the wing by up to 5 degrees to produce less downforce if required.
Engine
Race engines are based on a road-going production unit from the same manufacturer of which a minimum of 2,500 have been produced, although the base unit doesn't necessarily have to come from the same model as the bodyshell. Whilst the base unit may be between 1.8 and 2.2l, the race engine is limited to 2000cc, which may be achieved by re-boring or sleeving the block.
The engine block and cylinder head must be as per the base unit but may be lightened by machining or grinding off excess metal. Internal components are free and may be constructed from lighter material, subject to various weight limits. For example the crankshaft must not weigh less than 11kg. These restrictions are to restrict the use of custom built cylinder heads and expensive 'exotic' metals. Maximum permitted rev limit is 8500rpm.
Cylinder head values must be of the same diameter as the base unit with a maximum lift of 12mm. A TOCA specified single throttle body must be used, which includes a 60mm restrictor. Any form of variable valve timing, turbo-charging or forced induction is prohibited.
Transmission
A TOCA supplied clutch and 6-speed sequential gearbox must be used. The ratio for first gear is fixed; the remaining 5 gears can be selected for a set of 26 available ratios. The race car must remain front- or rear-wheel drive as per the road car. Four-wheel drive is not permitted. Any form of traction control is also banned.
Suspension
The basic geometry of the road car must be maintained, however suspension mounting points may be moved in any direction by a maximum of 20mm. TOCA supplied wheel hubs must be used.
Brakes
Brake discs and callipers are TOCA specified components supplied by AP Racing. Front discs are 343mm in diameter and 32mm thick, vented, and fitted with a 6-pot calliper. Rear discs are 290mm in diameter and 10mm thick and fitted with a 2-pot calliper.
Wheels & Tyres
Both wheels and tyres are TOCA specified components. Wheels are 17 inch multi-spoke alloys with a single 'centre lock' wheelnut. Tyres are of a single compound and for 2003 supplied by Dunlop. Each driver is limited to no more than 20 dry/slick tyres per meeting which includes qualifying and any untimed practice sessions. There is no limit to the number of grooved/wet weather tyres used. Tyre warmers are not permitted.
Weight Limits
All cars must have a minimum base weight of 1150kg, including the driver.
